This landmark revitalization project holds immense significance for the community of Khor Kalba, as it aims to amplify the true value of the site by creating unique cultural, educational, and recreational spaces. The overall approach focuses on three distinct zones: the urban core, nature interpretation and adventure zone, and heritage exploration zone. Each zone has its own defined character, contributing to the diverse functions and purposes of the development.

The intervention proposal places a strong emphasis on the conservation of archaeological sites, recognizing their cultural and educational importance. The project philosophy is encapsulated by the principles of continuity and transition. The design seamlessly integrates the traces of the ancient settlement, reflecting the resilience of the local community over time and marking a subtle transition towards a more contemporary lifestyle.

By honoring the site’s heritage and embracing a forward-looking vision, this project creates a harmonious blend of past and present, enriching the cultural and educational fabric of Khor Kalba. It serves as a catalyst for community engagement and development, fostering a deeper connection to the region’s history while embracing a vibrant and sustainable future.
