Description

Urban Edge Parks were envisioned as recreational spaces that seamlessly connected the urban landscape with the protected desert in Al Ain, offering a diverse range of activities to enhance the quality of life. The design process involved extensive research of the City Image Management Strategy and Plan Al Ain 2030, with careful consideration given to a service population of 10,000 to 20,000 people. The proposed project consisted of seven strategically located parks along the linear route: Rest & Play Park, Ghaf Park, Art Park, Water Park, Knowledge Park, Sanctuary Park, and Desert Park.

To promote visitor experience and ensure connectivity, a continuous cycle track was proposed along the Wadi Towayya embankment, complemented by dedicated rest areas approximately every 500 meters. Additionally, a visually captivating visitor center marked the eastern entrance into Al Ain, showcasing contemporary architectural design inspired by the local landscape. Furthermore, a signature gateway was proposed at the western entrance, serving as a distinct and welcoming entry point to the city.
